O’Reilly Managing Director
Whether it’s a unique talent for identifying artist voices on the radio, or the perfect customer for a campaign, Garrett has a deep understanding of people from all walks of life. As Managing Director, he has been leading the day-to-day operations with the UK Hearts & Science team since day one. He sets a high standard for the work his team delivers and supports them in their journey towards the unexpected and brilliant.
Previously having served as Managing Partner at M2M and Communications Planning Director at OMD, Garrett is no stranger to agency life. He holds the internationally renowned MIPA accreditation—the highest level of professional endorsement for Media in the UK, and his skills don’t stop there. He’s also a bit of a quiz geek and has a steady stream of fun facts ready to share.
Swansborough Chief Commercial OfficerResponsible for building commercial strategy in the UK office, Mark ensures a level of media magic by emphasising the heart of Hearts & Science. He puts clients first and builds innovative solutions to help them grow and thrive. Whether it’s formating the perfect chart or pioneering new solutions, he gets to live his childhood dream of playing on the computer every day to build winning strategies for clients.
He has over 20 years of media agency experience at OMG UK agencies like PHD and later as the Chief Operating Officer at Rocket. With the opportunity to work with diverse brands like HSBC, Toshiba, Porche and the Co-operative Group, Mark has delivered numerous award-winning campaigns to clients. A team player at work and on the field, he also serves as a football coach for his son’s club team.
Carr Chief Strategy Officer
Simon is the mastermind behind breaking down complicated client problems into simple, clear and jargon free strategies that stay relevant as consumer behaviour evolves. Armed with his trusty sharpie and sketchbook, Simon forges ahead with new ideas while recognising the value of the past.
He has worked across marketing agencies like M2M, Vizeum and Starcom for clients like Twentieth Century Fox, Paddy Power, Converse and Sky. His work at M2M won Mediaweek Gold three years in a row and he was shortlisted at Cannes too. Impressive in many ways, Simon can also do one finger pull ups and beat match records like a pro on a pair of Technics 1210s. No big deal.
Londal Chief Data OfficerAs the Chief Data Officer at Hearts & Science, James gets to live his childhood dream of programming computers and doing maths every day. He relentlessly pursues his goal is to question everything until he can find hard evidence to support client strategies. He’s all about producing real profits, not just reach.
With a background in financial services and sport data science, including having started his own accounting firm, James brings a unique perspective and entrepreneurial spirit to the Hearts team. A pro in customer acquisition, statistical modeling and databases, James is also a great at handstands! Well, usually.
Hames Finance DirectorA part of the UK Hearts & Science team since day one, Nicola is a fully trained accountant and the secret weapon of the leadership team. She brings the stability and clarity of numbers, but understands the flexibility and perspective that is needed to blaze trails in agency life. Accounts that reconcile are sweet music to her ears as she works to carve out financial leeway for the confidence to innovate.
With over 15 years of experience in financial leadership roles at companies like Deloitte, Across the Pond and Rocket, Nicola has deep expertise in creating financial strategies and improving profit margins. A woman of many talents, she dabbles in Chinese kickboxing and makes a mean homemade apple cider.
Dubock Head of InvestmentWarren is the unsung hero of consistently achieving media buying targets that transform client businesses and increase their profitability. It’s not enough to follow the traditional awareness model; Warren ensures clients get real value for their money with proven premium content at the centre of their media solutions.
Well versed in managing budgets, Warren has spent 20 years across global agencies like Carat and Omnicom Media Group making strategic investments and delivering cost effective solutions. Whether it’s renovating spreadsheets at work or household projects at home, Warren is always in a state of improving things around him.
Matthews Head of Client ExperienceAmy is the key to unlocking the best client relationships at Hearts & Science. An extremely perceptive leader, she is committed to evolving the client experience with data and technology as it sways and shapes the media landscape. She is no stranger to challenging media thinking and is often pioneering new ways to achieve better creativity and results for clients.
She has over 15 years of experience in the media industry working on both the media planning side and account side as Business Director at Rocket and Account Director at Arena. Having led a number of award-winning campaigns, most recently across UKTV, Amy has won categories in data and creativity—areas where she continues to excel by playing trivial pursuit and tap dancing in her spare time.
Welch Head of New Business & MarketingWhen it comes to creating a compelling story to win new business or marketing Hearts & Science, Nichola is the person to ask. Her penchant for distilling complex ideas down into simple, digestible presentations allow her to nail client pitches and build meaningful relationships. She is a team player and loves working with the diverse talent at Hearts & Science to build profitable strategies for clients.
Nichola has a vast well of marketing experience across agencies like Ketchum and Omnicom Media Group. Her tenacity and resolve to succeed have pushed her in the past to guide a client to break a world record for the World’s Largest Cake—one of her more unusual projects. Now, when she isn’t working her magic on storytelling, you can find her teaching others to dance or treading the boards in a musical.

Erin Matts is a veteran of the media and advertising industry with extensive experience in digital innovation and leadership. Previous to becoming CEO at Hearts & Science, she served as the North America CEO of Annalect, Chief Digital Marketing Officer at Glam Media, and Global Director of Digital Connections at Anheuser-Busch InBev. She has also led the U.S. digital media practice for OMD, playing a major role in helping the agency to be recognized by Ad Age as Agency of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
In 2015, Erin was named to ‘Ad Age’s Women to Watch’ list among 20 women breaking new ground in marketing and media, and listed among AdWeek’s 2016 Young Influentials list of game changers under 40. For almost 20 years, Erin has been making waves in the worlds of media, marketing, technology and entertainment.
As Chief Audience Officer at Hearts & Science, Renee works with teams to build better experiences for consumers and advertisers alike. By weaving consumer stories together from behavioural data, she marries the left and right brain to build more comprehensive solutions for brands.
She brings a deep expertise in consumer behaviour to the global leadership team with an advanced degree in Behavioural Psychology and 20 years of experience ranging from neuroscience laboratories to global marketing agencies. Studying the factors that influence consumer thinking in combination with granular behavioural data has been a researcher’s dream for Renee—almost as good as escaping for a good 6 mile run to get new ideas pumping.
Tara is weaving talent and collaboration between departments at Hearts & Science to make the impossible, possible. With her uncanny ability to nurture great ideas, she is currently building a team to reimagine the agency model and enhance the client experience. Her end goal is to drive business growth and strengthen the agency’s reputation, and she’s well on her way.
Previously serving as the Managing Director of Marketing & Business Development at OMD Worldwide and CMO of Deutsch in New York, Tara has mastered both the creative and media sides of marketing. She is a champion of diversity having served as a member of the Steering Committee of ADCOLOR, and is a devoted mother of two beautiful children.
A trailblazer at her core, Megan is pushing the industry forward to make the way digital is bought more customer-centric and entirely data-driven. She aims to empower her team with better technology and KPIs across programmatic and television in order to deliver best-in-class service for clients. Her deep knowledge of the ad tech space remains a valuable source for innovation at Hearts & Science.
When programmatic and real-time bidding were invented, Megan was there at Right Media. She has over 12 years of experience directly in data-driven media execution across agencies and is named under AdAge’s 40 Under 40 and DMA’s Marketing Edge 2011 Rising Star. Fluid in her strategy and life, Megan is also a scuba diver and teaching her daughter to love water too.
Crunching numbers and deciphering analytics, Jeff lives and breathes where finance meets creativity. He loves perfecting his craft in an evolving environment like advertising and media, and is always analyzing spreadsheets to provide additional value for clients. He wears many hats and gives equal attention to Hearts & Science, its employees and its clients.
Jeff has a firm grounding in finance starting his career at a large accounting firm before making his foray into the media industry as a Finance Director at Ogilvy and later at OMD. A man of many talents, he also spent six years in the Louisiana Army National Guard and earned his MBA from Columbia University.
